PSD to WordPress for Agency

A local design agency created the layout for this beautiful custom website, now they needed trustworthy developers to achieve their vision. They reached out to us and we stepped in to develop a pixel-perfect WordPress theme based on the client’s approved PSD file.

Highly Customized WordPress Theme

In order to achieve the design as specified by the client, we knew that this would be a highly customized WordPress theme.

Features include:

  • Two header navigation menus, each styled differently.
  • A blog for sharing the company’s latest news. Latest blog post automatically appears as a styled link on the homepage.
  • Custom job application system built directly into the WordPress site.
  • Video on homepage.
  • Partner logos appear front page slider and on the partners page. These logos are managed in one central place in the site, and are easy for client to edit.
  • Each of the highly customized, informative pages showcase Burtek’s capabilities and experience.

Custom Headers on Each Page

Page with custom header: title and description.

As you browse the website you’ll notice that each page has a custom image in the header, directly behind the page title. If you compare several pges, you’ll also notice that some have an additional introductory paragraph just below the title, others don’t. We developed the theme to accommodate this unique option of having a header description or not having one at all. This was an important aspect of the site design that we were able to maintain.

Managing Job Applications using Gravity Forms

We used a premium plugin called Gravity Forms to build the detailed, interactive job application forms. We love using Gravity Forms because it is a powerful tool for building web forms. In this case, it had everything we needed to build a job application system within this WordPress website.

The HR staff are automatically notified when a new job application comes in. They can easily view applications from within WordPress, make notes and email the submission to another team member for consideration. If we had needed to, we could have even routed different job applications to different team members based on data in the submission. All of this helps to streamline the hiring process.

The End Result

Styling Menus

All navigation menus are custom-styled with dropdowns that match the PSD exactly. We worked to replicate the designer’s vision with pixel-perfection.

Custom Titles and Subheads

Several pages have custom headers with a paragraph just below the page title. This allowed Burtek to explain more about their services, front and center.
